The journey to Kailash and back, over lifetimes and over centuries, has resonated within countless souls. Over a fifth of the world’s population finds the echo of Kailash in its deepest aspirations and purest goals. Among the thousands of the devout who ever tread this ground, this year only a small group will have an opportunity to experience something truly special and life-transforming.

During the 12-year Dev Kumbh cycle, this descent is believed to be a "Mass Gathering." Just as the Kumbh Mela on earth gathers humans, the Dev Kumbh at Kailash is the cycle where the gods gather in their highest frequency.

In this special Dev Kumbh year, Mohanji will travel to Lake Manasarovar, giving pilgrims a rare opportunity to experience this amplified spiritual window in His presence.

Journey to Inner Stillness

The Dev Kumbh at Mount Kailash

The Dev Kumbh is a rare and sacred cycle in the Kailash tradition, occurring once every twelve years. During this auspicious period, Mount Kailash is revered as a powerful centre of divine presence, offering seekers a profound opportunity for inner purification, spiritual renewal, and deep alignment with higher consciousness.

As part of Kailash with Mohanji, this sacred journey invites participants to connect with Kailash in its heightened spiritual potency — a time traditionally associated with dissolution of karmic impressions, deep silence, and transformation at the very core of one’s being.

Kailash! The world of Shiva! The world that encompasses all worlds! Only one thing really matters in this journey – GRACE

The Significance of Kailash

Up north from the vast plains of the Ganges valley in India, beyond the Kingdom of Nepal and north east of the great Himalayas lies the roof of the world, the land of snows – Tibet, home to the holiest mountain in the world -the abode of Shiva – The Mt. Kailash. Sacred to a fifth of the world’s population, a journey to Mount Kailash is the ultimate pilgrimage for Hindus, Buddhists, Tibetan, Bon and Jains. Mystical, magical and sacred, Kailash and Mansarovar have a place in the human ethos, seldom given to any other pilgrimage destination.

Around 40 kilometers from its southern base lies the beautiful Mansarovar, the world’s highest freshwater lake. Famed for its exceptional beauty, its sacred waters change color from a clear blue around the shores to a deep emerald green in the center. It looks positively magical in the moonlight. Together with Mansarovar, this mountain is surrounded by innumerable myths, stories and legends that add to the mystique of this most unapproachable place on earth.

Mount Kailash is one of the most important energy portals of the earth as it has been consistently accepted as the Earth’s crown chakra or Sahasrara chakra in many ancient historical references. The tantric masters of India, through their correspondences of “As above, so below,” state that the Supreme Consciousness in a human being or Lord Shiva resides both upon the physical Mount Kailash, as well as upon the “Mount Kailash” within the body, that is, the human crown chakra. The spiritual importance of Kailash dates back to the Bon and Hindu religions. Sacred to five major religions of the world, the Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, Jains and Bons, Kailash is the physical aspect of the spiritual Mt. Meru, a tangible aspect of divinity on Earth.

Kailash

Kailash Yatra (Pilgrimage) in
Mohanji’s Words

“Kailash! The world of Shiva! The world that encompasses all worlds! Only one thing really matters in this journey – GRACE.

Kailash stands in the middle of many mountains, like the eternal Shiva Linga. Clouds constantly perform “abhishek” (ritual bathing of the deity) on the Linga. The Shiva Linga represents the Supreme Lord, The Eternal Parabrahma. Only when Shiva calls can one touch the soil surrounding Kailash. It is the ultimate destination of every man. It is the abode of salvation, the ultimate dissolution. Kailash reflects everything that makes life on earth. Being one with Shiva! Being Shiva!

When a man touches his feet in the soil of Kailash, his journey of life becomes meaningful, fulfilled and his life becomes complete. Various places of power exist in the world. Each opens up a different dimension in us. Amongst all those places, Kailash is incomparable. Kailash is the ultimate. Kailash is all about dissolution. Kailash is that which is “unmanifested.” Kailash represents supreme consciousness without boundaries, without form, which is your TRUE state.

Our trip to Kailash is an attempt to connect to and experience the complete “being”-ness. Shiva shakes us up, removes all our masks, and makes us completely naked.

With a visit to Kailash, we are making a statement or commitment to Shiva, “I am ready to be YOU completely. You & I are one” which will be beyond karma – a statement or a commitment for complete dissolution.

Happy Journey! May the Supreme Lord Shiva make your journey of life successful and fulfilling!”

Past Legends and Stories

The Assembly of Celestials : The Skanda Purana refers to Kailash as a supreme mountain where Devtas (deities), Ganas, Yakshas, Siddha Purushas, and Gandharvas reside. It is believed that during the 12-year cycle (Dev Kumbh), these beings manifest more intensely to perform their own rituals for Lord Shiva.
